Its transparent barrel reveals the mechanism of the piston, notably the coil and the black stopper which seals in the ink in a completely airtight manner. This unique pilot custom heritage 92 transparent pen is a sure head-turner. This pen features a piston ink filling mechanism - a rare among Japanese fountain pens. The transparent demonstrator body nicely shows the inner works. Adorned with a 14K gold nib, writing is ever so fun. The fusion of chrome trims with the transparent body gives a sophisticated look to this pen. To use the piston filler mechanism, simply turn the knob at the end of the barrel counter-clockwise. Submerge the nib in an ink bottle and turn the knob clockwise to pull the ink into the transparent barrel. Do not attempt to unscrew the grip section or over-tightening the piston knob. Doing so can cause cracks.
